“The Monkey King???, ( Monkey God ) Sun Wukong, is the main character in the classical Chinese epic novel, “Journey to the West??? which is one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. Originally published anonymously in the 1590s during the Ming Dynasty. In the novel, he holding a golden staff accompanies the monk Xuanzang on the journey to retrieve Buddhist sutras from India. 

Journey to the West has a strong background in Chinese folk religion, Chinese mythology and value systems; the pantheon of Taoist and Buddhist deities is still reflective of Chinese folk religious beliefs today.

This sculpture figurine is guaranteed hand crafted by a famous master artist "Feng Zu Hui" and the carving work is carried out with scrupulous attention to detail, lively and not some of those being molded. Just look at the delicate quality of its solid carving or its high relief and fine facial features, you might distinguish it an impressive art piece!!

This is made in the old Shiwan potteries at the kilns twenty miles south of  the city of Canton, China. This is the most famous city in China in creating ceramic products over 500 years. Most of the masterpieces created there have been being collected in the national museum and by collectors of many countries.
