Painted In 1995

Unique Item one and only one

The Stunning, and amazing Artwork

The snuff bottle is a kind of small container with tiny mouth and flat belly so that it is easy for people to carry and use. This miniature handicraft was a microcosm of the painting and carrying techniques, which prevailed in the Qing dynasty. However, painting inside snuff bottle is different than glass painting. When painting a bottle, a painter usually use an angled bamboo pen with color, inserted into the small opening in the neck of the bottle and painting in the narrow space inside of it. Therefore, it is more difficult to paint inside a bottle than a piece of glass which needs a special skill and not every painter can be competent at such a tremendous work.

Deng Xiaoping (1904 - 1997) - The former General Secretary of the Communist Party of China

Deng XiaoPing was born on July 12, 1904 in Baifang Village, southwest of Sichuan province. The eldest son of the county sheriff, he was named Deng Xixian, a two character name that means "first saint". When Deng was 7 years old the imperial rule ended in China with a Republican uprising as the provinces declared their independence.

When he was 16, he left his rural home in Sichuan for Shanghai, where he boarded a steamer for France. Studying French, playing bridge and developing a passion for croissants, there he learned communism by doing servant work as an arms factory worker, waiter, train conductor, and rubber overshoe assembler. In 1922, Deng joined the Communist Party of Chinese Youth. One year later, Deng was elected as leader of the League. With a practical mind for detail, Deng helped duplicate and distribute the party newsletter, a job that earned him the mock degree of "Doctor of Mimeograph". In 1926, Deng left France and traveled to Moscow to study Marxist-Leninist thought.

Having left China for six years, Deng returned shortly before Chiang Kai-shek had wiped out the Communist Revolution in Shanghai. As a result, a civil war which lasted for ten years between the Communists and Nationalists was broken out. Deng took on the new name of Deng Xiaoping, literally meaning "little peace". Since 1931, Deng worked alongside Mao Zedong to establish a Red Army base (Evans 110-12).

Deng actively participated and cleverly planned his military unit. In 1949, Deng drove his 129th division down the middle of China, forced the Nationalists to withdrew and made way for Mao to press onto victory. Afterwards, Deng was appointed as a vice-premier and as a member of the Politburo Standing Committee and the head of the Party Secretariat (Zhibin 255).

After Mao had died of elderly, Deng came to own his authority through his popularity. By making himself popular abroad, Deng made himself more popular at his home country. The perception grew that he had put China on the map internationally and brought it renown through his economic reforms. He was also admired for having made the progress in the cause of national reunification (Evans 246-47).

Deng's marriages parallels his political career. His first marriage ended in tragedy. His wife unfortunately died from her first miscarriage. In 1932, Deng married his second wife, Jin Weiying, a party member of Red Army. Later, when Deng was purged, she divorced him and married his chief ideological accuser. His final marriage with Zhuo Lin lasted the rest of his life. They had five children together, three daughters and two sons.

Deng was strong and determined. He was still very active at the age of 80 as a politician and as a military leader. However, on June 24, 1989, he chose Jiang Zemin as his successor due to his health problems. A few months later, he resigned from his last remaining post, that of chairman of China's Central Military Commission. On February 19, 1997, Deng died of respiratory failure.
