The legend of the Eight Immortals - Lan Caihe

He Xiangu was one of the Eight Immortals of Taoist mythology and the only female. This incredibly detailed piece of art is based on an interpretation of a 16th century painting by Zhang Lu which showed her riding on a celestial crane. It is worth researching the legend.

"Lan Caihe" is the youngest one of the Eight Immortals. A symbol of wisdom and strength bringing longevity, good fortune & wealth and ensures all arround good Feng Shui.

This is one of our more intricate Chinese Collectable Porcelain sculptures – the term figurine really does not do it justice. The celestial crane is not present but rather it is suggested by the tremendous movement inherent in the lines and form. The essence of all that is great in Chinese art.
