The snuff bottle is a kind of small container with tiny mouth and flat belly so that it is easy for people to carry and use. This miniature handicraft was a microcosm of the painting and carrying techniques, which prevailed in the Qing dynasty. However, painting inside snuff bottle is different than glass painting. When painting a bottle, a painter usually use an angled bamboo pen with color, inserted into the small opening in the neck of the bottle and painting in the narrow space inside of it. Therefore, it is more difficult to paint inside a bottle than a piece of glass which needs a special skill and not every painter can be competent at such a tremendous work.

The Great Master Academy Artist - Liu Hui
The Artist, Liu Hui, a Provincial Master artist, was born in Raoyang County of Hebei Province, China in 1964. He is the member of China Art & Craft Society and Hebei Inside Painting Art Research Institute, and the apprentice of Mr. Wang Xisan, the Great Master. Now he is titled a provincial artist working in Hengshui Xisan Inside Painting Art Academy, especially renowned for portraits paintings. Most of his works were collected by world collectors and presidents.
He once won Golden Dragon Prize of Hebei Inside Painting Art Talents Competition by figure painting and animal painting respectively suiting both refined and popular tastes. His representative works are "the Wall-painting of Yong Le Palace", "Eighty-seven Immortals", "Lating Xu" (Preface of Orchid Pavilion), "General Secretaries of the United Nations", "He Houhua, the Chief Executive of Macao", "Chairman Hu Jintao in Xibaipo". Also he painted with portraits of seven presidents attending APEC in Shanghai in 2001 co-painting with Wang Yousan. Many works by him have been collected by collectors and headers due to the characteristics of exquisite techniques and minute both images and feelings.
